Tobe Morrow - Preschool 4 Teacher

Tell us about your childhood and your favorite parts of school as a child.
I grew up in Paso Robles on the Central Coast of California. I lived in the "country" on a 10 acre almond orchard. I didn't even have cable until I went to college! I was a tomboy who loved to dance. I danced 5 days a week. When I wasn't taking classes myself, I was teaching dance to little kids.

What brought you to the Palisades?
I moved to the Palisades 16 years ago in March of 2001. My husband and I bought our first house on Galloway.

When did you start teaching and how has it been to teach here at CCS?
I started teaching 1st grade in 1997 at a school called Langdon Ave Elementary school, which is in the Los Angeles Unified school district. I taught until my first son Cooper was born in 2002. I took a VERY long break to be a mommy and came back to teach once all my kids were in school. Lucky for me, they all go to school at Calvary! It's great teaching in the same school with my children. I absolutely love when they all come to my classroom. It's the best job in the world!

You have children spanning preschool through 8th grade this year. Tell us what that has been like as a Calvary mom.
I have an 8th grade boy named Cooper, a 6th grade boy named Crew, a 3rd grade boy named Cash, and a Preschool 4 girl named Charlie. Being a Calvary mom is amazing. There is such a tight community here, it is like an extended family for us. We have been at Calvary since MOPS. My oldest son was only 6 months old, when we stepped foot onto this campus, and now he is graduating 8th grade this year! We are beyond blessed to be a part of this Calvary family, and extremely grateful for the teachers, administration, staff and friends we have made along the way.

How does your family prefer to spend its free time (assuming you have any!!)?
With 4 very active kids, most of our free time is spent on Football fields, Soccer fields, basketball courts, baseball fields and lacrosse fields. We roughly have 6-8 games per week for all 3 boys. When we are not playing sports, we like to go to the beach, swim in the pool, and play games like dominoes or chess.

I am happiest when I am.... at the beach relaxing with my family and friends.
