Bidding Rules: •You must register on the auction site to obtain a user name and private password in order to view items displayed in the online auction. •You must provide a valid credit card in order to bid on auction items. •Please read the description for each item carefully so that you are aware of all exclusions, restrictions, terms and expiration dates. The Auction Committee, Donors and Calvary Christian School are NOT responsible for buyer dissatisfaction from failure to read the terms, exclusions, restrictions or expiration dates listed. •Each item indicates a minimum bid and the incremental amount required to increase the previous bid. Some items have a “Buy Now” price, which allows a buyer to immediately purchase the item and prevents any further bidding on this item. •When the Auction closes, the last valid bid at that time will be the winner for the item. If you have the last valid bid, then your credit card will automatically be charged at the time of closing. If there are problems with approval of the credit card charges, then the Auction Committee will do their best to secure a viable credit card from the bidder. If the Committee is unable to do so, then the next highest bidder will be contacted and declared the winner of the item. •Winners will be notified by e-mail. •All sales are FINAL. There will be no exchanges or refunds. •If you experience any problems with bidding on the online auction, please contact the co-chairs. •Unless otherwise stated, all auction items and services MUST be used within one year (April 12, 2009), at which point the offer is no longer valid. •It is the buyer’s responsibility to initiate contact with the donor of items, such as hotels, homes, tickets, and services to arrange for receipt of the purchased item. •Values set forth for auction items are best estimates only and the Auction Committee and Calvary Christian School make no guaranties or warranties for tax purposes and general value. •All successful bids for PARTIES are transferable, but are non- refundable. •IRS regulations require that we provide the following information to auction participants: * The amount of the contribution, whether for a donated or purchased item that is deductible for federal income tax purposes is limited to the excess of any money (and the value of any property other than money) contributed by the donor or purchased by the bidder over the value of goods or services sold. Any question with regard to the tax treatment of your contributions or purchases should be referred to a qualified tax professional. For auction purchases, your itemized receipt sent by e-mail is your official receipt. •Auction items and information concerning item content is displayed online under the item number and placed in a group according to type. •Bidding for the online silent auction begins at 8:00 am PST on Monday, March 31, 2008 and ends at 11:59 PM PST on Friday, April 11, 2008. •New items will be added throughout the auction period. Please check back frequently to make your bids and check out new items! •Winners may pick-up their auction items on Monday, April 14, Tuesday, April 15, 2008 and Wednesday, April 16, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the second floor classroom in the Church Sanctuary. Absentee Bidding Rules and Instructions: •Anyone interested in placing Absentee Bids at the Live Auction, please contact Caitlin Villante or Kari Ursitti. Reserve: •Reserve means that the item must go for at least the minimum bid or it will not be sold. Stated Values: •Except in the case of “Priceless” items, dollar amounts listed are fair market value for goods and services. In most cases, starting bids are approximately 50% of stated value. Live Auction: •All Live Auction bidding will be done with a CLEAR SHOW OF RAISED HANDS. You must raise your HAND high in the air and have it recognized aloud by the Auctioneer. Keep your hand in the air until a “Live Auction Spotter” recognizes you. •The Auctioneer will call out the current bid and ask for a raise. Once the Auctioneer announces the item sold, he will announce the winning bidder and amount. •The Live Auction Spotter will ask for a signature from the winning bidder to confirm the purchase. This form will then be turned into the Check-out/Cashier. Check-out: •You will receive an itemized invoice for any items purchased the night of the Auction Dinner.
